Derby Impossible Cup

In 2016, Kathryn was invited to create an artwork for Derby Museum inspired by their historic porcelain collection.

Utterly beguiled by Derby Museum's miniature antique impossible-to-drink-from tulip-shaped cup, Kathryn decided to create her own “Impossible Cup”. Combining memories of the diminutive cup and the coral specimens in the Museum’s inspiring nature gallery, Kathryn created the “Derby Impossible Cup”. At just 7 cm tall, it was placed beside its forebear in the Museum’s collection.
